Nelles, Scott - Bronze Sculptures
Traverse City area artist (Elk Rapids) Scott Nelles has been producing cast bronze sculpture and decorative items for over three decades. In his Northern Michigan foundry and studio he finds inspiration in the natural world and the creatures within it. His little bronze animals have been a favorite for years.
As a child in the Detroit area, Scott visited foundries and steel mills with his father, and was fascinated by the industrial process and the objects produced. Using the timeless methods of sand casting and hand finishing, he creates objects of beauty, strength, and whimsy.
